April 1987 Formation of a Preparatory Committee for Establishment of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, Kagoshima University
April 1988 Establishment of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences( 3-year Doctoral Program) comprising four graduate programs from three universities, Kagoshima University, Faculties of Agriculture and Fisheries, University of Miyazaki, Faculty of Agriculture, and Saga University, Faculty of Agriculture
April 1992 Participation of University of the Ryukyus in the United Graduate School
April 2004 Four Universities were reconfirmed their participation in the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences based at Kagoshima University under new treaties that turned national universities into independent administrative entities
