The 2024 spring semester commencement ceremony
On 27 September, the 2024 spring semester commencement ceremony for the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences was held in the conference room of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences building. Six doctoral students recently received their degrees. At the ceremony, KITAHARA Kanefumi, Dean of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences presented each of the four participants with a degree.
Dean KITAHARA said in his address, ‘In addition to the unstable global situation, we are currently facing a combination of unpredictable accidents and natural disasters in Japan. In order to break through these difficult circumstances, it is necessary to further promote the creation of ground-breaking science and technology and to strengthen our capacity for innovation, and you will play a leading role in this.’ This was followed by a congratulatory address from TERAOKA Yukio, Dean of the Graduate School of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Kagoshima University.
On behalf of the graduates, Dr. NISHITANI Atsushi, assigned to Kagoshima University, gave an acknowledgment speech. He thanked his supervisor, fellow students, family, and friends and expressed his appreciation for their support. He also pledged to make use of the knowledge and experience they had gained at the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences to contribute to the development of science and society.
