The 2025 commencement ceremony

On September 26, the 2025 commencement ceremony for the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences was held in the conference room of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences building.
Nine course doctorate recipients and two dissertation doctorate recipients received their degrees. 
At the ceremony, KITAHARA Kanefumi, Dean of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, presented diplomas to each of the eight attendees.
In his address, the Dean stated: “Currently, in addition to unstable global conditions, unpredictable accidents and natural disasters within Japan have compounded, leading to a prolonged economic downturn. To overcome these difficult circumstances, it is essential to further advance groundbreaking scientific and technological innovations and strengthen our capacity for innovation within the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and life sciences that we pursue. You will be the key players in achieving this.” 

This was followed by a congratulatory address from SUZUKI Akihiro, Dean of the Graduate School of Agriculture at Saga University, one of the constituent universities.

On behalf of the graduates, Dr. IGAWA Shuji, assigned to Kagoshima University, gave an acknowledgment speech. He expressed gratitude to his supervisors, who had warmly guided him, the laboratory members who supported him during his studies, and his family. He pledged to approach science sincerely and humbly, bearing in mind his awareness and responsibility as a doctoral holder, striving for the advancement of science and contributing to society.
