Entrance ceremony for the 2026 academic year (April entrance course)

On April 10, 2026, the entrance ceremony of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences was held. 33 students, including 13 international students, were admitted.

After IDO Akio, President of Kagoshima University, gave the 33 students permission to enter the Graduate School, Mr. SHAH SHAMEEL SALMAN ALI, who is assigned to Kagoshima University, pledged on behalf of the new students: “I pledge to devote myself to cultivating advanced research skills and academic knowledge to become an international researcher who will lead the 21st century. 

IDO Akio, President of Kagoshima University,  stated in his address, “To all new students joining us today,
We expect you to not only enhance your specialization in this graduate school but also firmly establish the fundamental skills required for advanced researchers. These skills encompass diverse perspectives, a global mindset and the ability to act, problem identification, and effective communication skills. Ultimately, we hope you will contribute to building a hopeful, stable, and sustainable society.”

This was followed by a congratulatory address from NODE Koichi, President of Saga University, and KINA Ikuue, President of the University of the Ryukyus.

The 33 new students enrolled in our graduate school are as follows
Japanese: 20
13 international students (4 from China, 2 from Indonesia, 2 from Fiji, 1 from Bangladesh, 1 from Sri Lanka, 1 from Sudan, 1 from Ethiopia and 1 from Namibia)
